As I mentioned we have been to some wonderful Ameristar buffets, but this one was truly substandard in value and quality. In fact, I rarely eat red meat, but ate it there, because it was one of the few things I could find that wasn't fried. I try to eat in a healthy way, but I found very little that I wanted to eat there. The salad bar was minimal, there was only one kind of soup, the seafood was mostly fried, and the only other type of food offered was Chinese, which also consisted of mostly fried choices.
For the price we paid, we expected a much more extensive selection of food.
This buffet is much smaller than any of the other Ameristars-from size of restaurant to buffet selection. We travel across country often and have now been to all of the Ameristar Casino Buffets around the country and most of them are excellent.
